Finding a black hole is one of the hardest things to find in space, obviously because a black hole is, well, black. A black hole against a black backdrop can be a bit tricky.

But to make matters worse, the earliest black holes that hold secrets to ancient galaxies also seem to be hiding behind thick layers of gas and dust, making them that much harder to spot and research. If astronomers can somehow view them better or find more and them though, they are almost certain they can hold clues to how ancient galaxies formed and existed.

While they can’t exactly find or see the black holes due to the whole black on black thing, they can spot where they exist. If they can spot material moving into the black hole, being sucked away. As these materials speed up, the amount of energy that is shot off from them is intense. This is how they can spot these.

Early galaxies that formed just a billion years or so after the Big Bang actually have small black holes inside them they believe with little energy coming from them anymore. However, these are believe to be super massive black holes, meaning these holds are millions to billions the times the size our sun is. Most black holes that are formed only get to be about 10 to 20 times the size of our sun.

Finding the black holes is really a two step process. First, they use the powerful Hubble Space Telescope in order to find likely candidates. And once they find all of the likely candidates, they then studied their X-ray emission by using the Chanda X-Ray Observatory.

The fascinating thing about searching for these is that you are really looking past into time, as the light takes millions to billions of years to reach us. But the early black holes again to be the hardest to find, and only high energy X-rays could pass through them.

The galaxies and black holes that are about the same age as our Milky way all seem to have the same type of properties, which scientists assume is normal as they grow together. However, they didn’t think the first ones would be that way, since the differ in size. It has happened so quickly and they really can’t explain or understand why they are so closely connected together already.

The search goes on for more black holes though, as they look for early clues about the universe, which is estimated to be 13.7 billion years old.

If you are a big girl and you have ever tried to find fashionable clothes, you know about the uphill battle that you incur virtually every time you go shopping. I see it first hand from my wife. She loves looking nice and tries to always look her best, despite being a size 18. But for her, finding something that a younger person wants to wear is like trying to find the lost city of Atlantis.

And that includes wedding dresses.

For years now, plus sized women were reduced to being spectators when trying to find the perfect wedding dress. Almost every bridal shop stocks a sample wedding dress at a size 10. But what if you are a size 20? Guess what? You can’t try on the dress. But you could watch someone you brought or an employee model the dress so that you could see the dress.

But that just doesn’t work. Everyone’s body is different, so that just didn’t work. You tried your best, but you never quite knew how the dress was going to fit until after you bought it. And then you were stuck if you didn’t like how it fit your body type.

No need to fear, though. Mara Urshel is here to bring high end fashion to the plus sized women. And it is long overdue!

Six years ago, Urshel opened up her own bridal shop. But this wasn’t your normal bridal store. No, no. This bridal shop catered to the average woman in America. They were all about making sure that all plus sized women got to try on the dress of their dreams and to be able to pick one that fit them. And they would actually get to see how it fit on them.

Urshel stocks sample sizes for brides all the way up to size 32! Yes, a 32. This shop is amazing and her motto is that a bride is special, no matter her size, and should be catered to just like anyone else trying to purchase the dress of their dreams.

That inspired Gwen DeVoe, who is the executive producer of the Full Figured Fashion Week, which will be taking place in New York. While it is still new, it highlights plus sized women fashion, showing people that larger women can dress great and look amazing while doing it.

Hopefully, these ladies will inspire more retailers nationwide to start carry larger sizes that are actually fashionable, not something an old lady would wear. I, personally, can’t wait to take my wife shopping once this hits more stores all over the country!

Last week, Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theaters made natinoal news when they kicked someone out of the movies due to “excessive” texting. Then, a viral movie popped up on YouTube about 48 hours ago, once again going on about their policy of no talking or texting.

In addition to these policies, Alamo has some other strict rules that you will not see at your normal movie theater chains. Here are a few of their policies and why they are enforced the way they are.

No ads are being played before the movie

You won’t see any annoying Army ads or any other major brand showing ads before a movie at Alamo. They were sick of seeing all the ads that bombarded people before the show, so they created a “preshow” experience. Basically, the preshow revolves around the movie you are going to see. So, you may see a commercial, but it would be a vintage one fitting to the movie, not a paid, generic ad.

Children under 6 are not allowed

Some people may think this is a bit extreme, but it makes sense. They do allow the age limit to be a little lower, such as 3, if it is a family-crossover movie. Also, they have “Baby Days” in which they allow infants and small children to come in a view a movie. However, if you bring a 4 year old in at night to see the latest Transformer movie, you will not be seeing it at their theater.

Minors need to be with an adult

Alamo believes while there are good kids all around, when you put a bunch of them together in a theater, things will go wrong fast. That is why they do not allow any minors to be alone in the theater. If they still act up, they will be thrown out.

Persistent talking and texting is not allowed

This is simple. The movie theater is dark and people do not want to see the lights of a cell phone when trying to text. Also, talking is just annoying for everyone during a movie, so you will be warned once. If it continues, you will need to leave immediately.

One other cool thing about Alamo Drafthouse is that you can enjoy a beer with your movie too!

A Goodyear blimp as exploded in the air, instantly killing the pilot in charge of the blimp.

While the blimp exploded in Germany while carrying three other passengers, those people were able to safely jump out of the blimp somehow and make it to Earth.

The famous Goodyear blimp was at the Hessentag festival, which is held in Oberursel, Germany.

Joachim Storch, who was a photographer for the event as well, was one of the passengers on the ill fated blimp. He told reporters that the pilot was having a lot of trouble with landing the blimp and things were just not right. The pilot told all of the people on board as they neared the ground to jump to safety, because he was not sure if the blimp was going to make it or not.

As the blimp neared the ground, the three passengers jumped for their life. Luckily, they were only about 2 meters above the ground when they jumped, so they didn’t need a parachute or any other safety gear. No one at this time seems injured besides the pilot.

However, Storch said pretty much right after they all jumped out, the blimp just shot straight up into the air, about 50 meters up, and just burst into flames. They think it took off quickly because of the sudden weight drop.

People watch the blimp catch fire and heard the poor pilot screaming in agony as he was engulfed as well. There was apparently a strong smell of gasoline that was coming from the blimp, which probably was the cause or the thing that ignited it. Officials say there probably was some sort of leak in the system which caused gasoline or fumes to escape and catch fire.

At first, the ship was believed to be an infamous Zeppelin. The Zeppelin was the largest carrier of people in a blimp fashion in the 30′s. However, that age of that type of air travel came to an abrupt halt in 1937.

In 1937, the Hiddenburg Zeppelin caught fire, similar to this blimp, above Lakehurst, New Jersey. After that horrible accident, the company did not build another commercial air carrier like that for over 60 years. However, now, you can take flights on a Zeppelin out of the Philadelphia Airport. However, I am not sure how many people will be lining up for a trip on that now especially.

The airship that was involved as an A60 airship, which is also known as a blimp.

President Barrack Obama’s approval rating once again took a huge hit, dropping to below 50% amid fears that the economy is still struggling and heading towards another Great Depression.

In fact, Obama’s rating has gone from 54% in late May who approve to 48% now who approve. Also, those who disapprove went from 45% to 48%. Even though the capture and killing of Bin Laden helped briefly, it wasn’t enough to calm fears about jobs, gas and many other factors in the economy.

Recently, in a hypothetical poll, Obama lost against Republican Mitt Romney in a choose the President now poll. Romney recently announced his bid for President and is one of the favorites to win the primary of the Republican party.

The biggest drop among parties was of course in the Republican party, even though he dropped in all other parties. However, he went from a 25% approval rating to just a 14% approval rating among the Republicans.

“Obama’s approval among Republicans spiked after bin Laden’s death, and no one expected it to stay that high for another 18 months. But the White House is probably worried more about the much smaller drops among independents and even Democrats. Those shifts are likely due to concerns about the economy, particularly unemployment,” adds Holland.

When asked about their largest fear, the American people said that, by a margin of 46%, that they are concerned for another Great Depression. That is extremely bad and serious news for the Obama camp, as they are preparing for another Presidential run. No one wants to be President when almost the majority thinks you are heading towards another disaster.

Obama needs things to pick up and pick up fast if he wants to be President for a 2nd term. His health care bill, which could easily be repealed if he loses, could be his downfall, as he used up almost 2 years of his term trying to get that pushed through.

We knew it wouldn’t take too long before some government stiffs got their panties in a bunch over the new Facebook facial recognition feature that was unveiled to the masses last week.

The liberal state of Connecticut and its’ Attorney General George Jepsen has said that they would like to meet with Facebook as soon as possible. Jepsen says he has deep concerns about the privacy issue of the facial recognition software. His main problem with the system is that it is an opt out service, not something that you opt in to. Also, he is unaware of the long term effects that facial recognition software will have in terms of privacy.

Facebook said that they are eager to talk with Jepsen and to further explain the Tag Suggestion model that the company is using. Basically, they want to explain that opting out is easy and the service is just part of the site experience. If people don’t want to use it, change your privacy settings so it doesn’t show. If anyone is really concerned about their privacy online, they wouldn’t be blasting their photos all over Facebook so that their face can be recognized.

Basically, Facebook is trying to make the user experience faster and better then ever. Instead of tagging your favorite friends in photos, which can take awhile, they now are able to suggest which friends it may be by using this software.

Those who opt out of using the software can still be tagged, but it can only be done manually, not suggested. Just like other privacy options that are on the site, it can be easily changed. But that is not enough for those who seem to want to fight every little thing Facebook does.

Here is my thought on the whole Facebook privacy issues. If you don’t want your information out there, don’t use the site! Facebook is a networking site meant to connect you with other people all over the world. It has plenty of settings in place so that you can protect your privacy and photos if you really want to. Most people use these privacy settings and 99% of the people never worry about a single thing.

However, like most things in the American culture, those who talk the loudest think they can control everything, even if the majority think that all is okay. So again, we will have to bow down and listen to the wishes a few loud mouths who think they know the best for the world. Sorry, but I like my Facebook the way it is.

There is one thing that really bugs me about American culture and a large part of the censorship that happens as a part of American entertainment.

Let me get this straight. All Americans have free speech. So why does a government agency, the Federal Communications Commission, or the FCC, get to censor whatever they deem offensive on our TV? How does that one make sense?

And what is a curse word anyways? Doesn’t every one curse when they get mad, excited, or whatever? A curse word is just a word that we attach an emotion to.

The thing that really bugs me about censoring curse words is that no word is really a bad word, it is just how it is used. If I scream out crap when I stub my toe instead of the other word that involves feces, how is the meaning of that word any different at all? It is not!

All words are just words. And any word yelled out in an emotion could be considered a curse word. Just because we didn’t scream out the exact word that society deemed you can’t say doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold the same meaning. If you mean to yell out in anger, whatever word that comes out of your mouth means the same thing, no matter which one you said.

So why is it that we continue to allow TV and the government censor our entertainment or if they don’t, they get a heavvy fine? Next time someone says something close to a curse word on TV, I am going to write to the FCC and demand that they censor that word. I will argue that since the person meant the same thing as a curse word it is the same thing.

But people don’t get it and I would get no where. A word is what you make of it really.

Think about this. What color is the sky? It is blue, right? But why is it blue? Why isn’t it red? Just because someone a long time ago called it blue means that it is blue? Just think about that sometime really. Everything that you know is a certain word could be a different word. And just because you call it another word doesn’t change what it is to you. It just changes how it is communicated to someone else really.

Okay, I am done with my mindless ramblings. Have a great day!

It looks as though international terrorist Osama bin Laden finally got his wish. All charges brought against him by the United States courts have been dropped. Too bad that he can’t enjoy the freedom.

Bin Laden was famously murdered last month by US Navy Seals, who have been searching for the mastermind behind the 1998 Embassy bombings over seas and was also thought to be the mastermind behind the September 11 attacks in the United States. While charges were never formally filed for the 9/11 attacks, he was still considered the most wanted man in the world for his role in the 1998 bombings of US properties overseas.

The formal charge in the 1998 bombings was murder and the conspiracy to murder American citiznes overseas. Those bombings in Kenya and Tanzania killed a total of 224 people.

While the charges were never formally filed for the 9/11 attacks, bin Laden claimed responsibility for the bombings that killed over 3,000 Americans on the United States soil. In fact, former President Bush started an entire war in Afghanistan to try and flush out and find bin Laden and bring him to justice. Ten years later, that mission is finally complete, as US Navy Seals swarmed a compound of his on May 2nd and killed the most wanted terrorist in the world.

The charges were dropped only after extensive testing to make sure that the person that was killed was truly Osama bin Laden. Authorities did follow traditional Muslim law that says you must be buried within 24 hours. However, they had plenty of time to do tests on the body, and they confirmed that the body was indeed bin Laden. Facial recognition tests were done along with photograph analysis of him. Of course, they also did DNA testing of the body too.

Officials said that the chance of mistaken identity in this case is at 1 in 11.8 quadrillion, meaning that they are right.

After gathering all the evidence, the US Attorney petitioned the courts to have the charges dropped due to the death of the suspect. The judge granted the request, as it is standard practice when a wanted person who dies is indicted on certain criminal charges.

While the charges are dropped for bin Laden, the new al Qaeda leader, al-Zawahiri, is still wanted for the same crimes as bin Lade. In fact, he has the same bounty out for his head that bin Laden had, set at $25 million.

In another round of sweeping lawsuits, two new ones have come to light, targeting users of BitTorrent who downloaded one of two movies.

At the break of the 21st century, all the rage was around music sharing sites like Napster, with the music industry coming together to blast that apart quickly. While music sharing is still rampant on the Internet, it is much harder to do. Now, we are ready for the next fight, which will involve the movie industry.

Two different movies and studios have filed suit against users who downloaded their movies on BitTorrent. The first movie, The Hurt Locker, which was produced by Voltage Pictures, is suing around 25,000 users who allegedly downloaded the movie illegally.

The other movie lawsuit, which was filed a couple of weeks ago, was filed by the studio Nu Images over the movie The Expendables. In that lawsuit, over 23,000 users were sued in that motion.

Both of the lawsuits were filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., by the U.S. Copyright Group, an outfit formed by Washington-based law firm Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver. The group filed its Expendables lawsuit in February, then followed with its Hurt Locker lawsuit in April.

“They’re copyright trolls,” says Corynne McSherry, intellectual property director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights organization. “They take a dragnet approach to litigation.”

These types of lawsuits, while they have merit, are hard to prove. First, you have to prove who downloaded it when you only have an IP address. Are you going to sue a grandparent when a kid downloads a movie? What about a hotel chain who allows free internet? Or a restaurant? The law gets very fuzzy in that regard.

Finally, the profits that Voltage would receive would be almost extraordinary, considering the movie profits so far. In the box office, The Hurt Locker made $17 million. If just 10,000 people in the lawsuit settle or have to pay just $2,000, that would net them $20 million. Is that justifiable?

The two dinosaurs now famously know as “The Fighting Pair” have been sold to a museum for a whopping $2.75 million.

What is abnormal about this pair of dinosaurs is that they are being sold together. The reason for that though is very interesting.

When the bones of these two dinosaurs, an allosaurus and a stegosaurus, were found in a Wyoming quarry, the allosaurus had it’s jaw wrapped around the leg of the stegosaurus. That is why they were then name the fighting pair since it looked as though they were fighting at that time.

This was obviously the largest ticket item at the Heritage Auction center, where more then 200 other items were sold, such as minerals, fossil and different types of meteorites. Another large sale was to a private collector, who bought a 19 foot long triceratops. Who knows what he will be doing with that.

Scientists and other dinosaur experts are ecstatic to where the pair of dinosaurs finally ended up. They are excited that the public will now be able to enjoy these on a daily basis and that it is not going into some private collection, where the world may not have direct access to it.

While museums and other collectors were able to bid either online or in person, other people packed the building as well, trying to sneak a peek of all the amazing objects that were up for auction. Never before has a collection as diverse and as historical been put up on the auction block.

Henry Galiano, who is the paleontologist who discovered the pair, will be putting the money back into research to try and find more and more of these type of dinosaurs, which also is making the entire science community happy. They are sure more will be uncovered with the extra funds that they now have to continue on.

Finding bones is still hard, as it is a long and tedious process. Also, the tools to find bones, despite amazing technology advances everywhere else, has been stagnant for about the last 150 years. But still, the bones business is very hot and people still love dinosaurs.

In 1990, a T-Rex was found and that was named Sue. 7 years later, Sue was sold for $8.3 million to Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History. But those prices are rare, as seen with the triceratops that was sold in the auction.
