Computer Glitch Ground Hundreds of United Airplane Passengers

A computer glitch is the culprit of grounding passengers across the nation. But officials from United Airlines, the company effected by this glitch, has announced that they believe all is fixed and flights will be able to resume their normal schedule.
United Airlines, which is based out of the Chicago area, has blamed a large network connectivity error for all of the computer troubles that they faced. But they finally seem to have everything under control. They said at the company they worked non stop and used all of their troubleshooting skills in order to get the problem fixed so that passengers can start flying again. Finally, around midnight, it seemed as though the system was stable enough to start accepting passengers again.
That didn’t stop the problem from causing huge delays for people trying to fly on the airline. The computer system affected their entire operations, from scheduling to departures to processing the flights. That left people waiting all over the airport, stuck in security, hanging out at airport lounges and some just canceling the flights all together.
One of the worst situations was when one plane was about to take off and it was taxiing around the runway. They said on the PA system that they had lost contact with the computer system, and that was crucial because that is what they used to measure the weight of the plane to make sure enough fuel was in the engine. The plane then went around the runway for about an hour before getting some more fuel and waiting. However, the people on the plane were not allowed to get off of the plane for anything.
Long lines were seen all over the nation, especially at the nations busiest airports. All airports were in toubel because of this problem, and there really was nothing the airports or the airlines could do.
They said it was a direct safety issue, as they needed to be in contact with the planes at all times. Even if the planes could fly, they would not let them due to the constant monitoring that is needed on flights now. Plus, they need to be able to stay in contact in case of emergencies with the plane or passengers on board.
People were also getting frustrated, although some did understand that problems do arise, seemingly at the worst time though. The passengers said it wasn’t a big deal, but when all they hear is that they are having computer problems and nothing else, it gets frustrating. Especially after waiting for four hours.
