What is the Big Deal with Cursing?

There is one thing that really bugs me about American culture and a large part of the censorship that happens as a part of American entertainment.
Let me get this straight. All Americans have free speech. So why does a government agency, the Federal Communications Commission, or the FCC, get to censor whatever they deem offensive on our TV? How does that one make sense?
And what is a curse word anyways? Doesn’t every one curse when they get mad, excited, or whatever? A curse word is just a word that we attach an emotion to.
The thing that really bugs me about censoring curse words is that no word is really a bad word, it is just how it is used. If I scream out crap when I stub my toe instead of the other word that involves feces, how is the meaning of that word any different at all? It is not!
All words are just words. And any word yelled out in an emotion could be considered a curse word. Just because we didn’t scream out the exact word that society deemed you can’t say doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold the same meaning. If you mean to yell out in anger, whatever word that comes out of your mouth means the same thing, no matter which one you said.
So why is it that we continue to allow TV and the government censor our entertainment or if they don’t, they get a heavvy fine? Next time someone says something close to a curse word on TV, I am going to write to the FCC and demand that they censor that word. I will argue that since the person meant the same thing as a curse word it is the same thing.
But people don’t get it and I would get no where. A word is what you make of it really.
Think about this. What color is the sky? It is blue, right? But why is it blue? Why isn’t it red? Just because someone a long time ago called it blue means that it is blue? Just think about that sometime really. Everything that you know is a certain word could be a different word. And just because you call it another word doesn’t change what it is to you. It just changes how it is communicated to someone else really.
Okay, I am done with my mindless ramblings. Have a great day!
